Specialist online dyslexia tutoring for children aged 8–13 across Ireland — engaging sessions, evidence-based methods, real results.
ReadWithMe.ie provides specialist online dyslexia tutoring for children aged 8–13, based on the Orton-Gillingham reading programme — one of the most rigorously researched structured literacy approaches in the world.
With over 15 years of primary teaching experience, including four years of daily specialist work at one of only four Wilson Reading System schools in Ireland, I understand exactly what it takes to help a struggling reader build real, lasting skills — and genuine confidence.
My background is a little different from most tutors. I hold a science degree, which means I don't just use evidence-based methods because they sound good — I understand why they work. Every technique I use is grounded in research, and I adapt it to suit each individual child.
I am also a qualified coach specialising in confidence-building. For many children with dyslexia, the reading difficulty is only part of the challenge. Years of feeling "behind" or "different" can quietly chip away at a child's belief in themselves. Coaching is woven into every session — not as an add-on, but as a core part of how I work.
Sessions are delivered online during evening hours, making specialist support accessible to families right across Ireland — no travel, no disruption to your day. I use a blended learning approach combining structured literacy, games, tutorial videos, and personalised activities to keep learning active, age-appropriate, and genuinely engaging.
Every pupil also gets access to a growing library of short lesson videos and follow-up activities, available to watch and revisit any time. New videos are added regularly, so learning doesn't stop between sessions. This means your child can consolidate what they have covered at their own pace, in their own time — which is exactly how lasting progress is made.
I also train teachers in the use of educational technology, which means the digital tools I use in sessions are carefully chosen, purposeful, and ones I know inside out.
And I believe strongly that parents are a child's most powerful learning partner. That is why parent communication and support are built into everything I do — not offered as an afterthought.

1-to-1 Tutoring Sessions
The most personalised way to make real, lasting progress.
Every child with dyslexia is different — and a one-size-fits-all approach simply does not work. That is why each one hour session is built around your child specifically: where they are right now, how they learn best, and what they need to move forward with confidence.
Every lesson follows the Wilson Reading System — one of the most rigorously researched structured literacy programmes in the world — combined with engaging digital tools, games, and activities that keep your child active, motivated, and genuinely enjoying their learning.
As part of every 1-to-1 package, your child also gets:
Access to a growing library of short lesson videos to revisit between sessions
Regular new content added to reinforce and consolidate what has been covered
All resources emailed before and after every lesson
A parent update after each session so you always know exactly what was covered and what to practise at home
Sessions are available on weekday evenings.
Monthly block bookings are available, offering better value and consistency — both of which matter enormously when building reading skills.

Small Group Sessions
Structured literacy in a supportive, social setting.
Learning alongside peers can be a powerful thing — especially for children who have spent years feeling like they are the only one who finds reading hard. Small group sessions bring together up to four pupils at a similar stage of reading development, creating an environment where every child feels understood, included, and motivated to progress.
Every group session follows the same structured literacy approach used in 1-to-1 tutoring — so there is absolutely no compromise on quality. The Wilson Reading System framework underpins every lesson, and sessions are kept small deliberately, so every child still gets plenty of individual attention and no one gets left behind.
For families who want specialist dyslexia support without the cost of 1-to-1 sessions, this is an excellent option — but the focus is always on progress, not just participation.
Group sessions include:
A carefully matched peer group at a similar reading level
The same structured, evidence-based approach used in all ReadWithMe.ie sessions
Access to the shared video library and follow-up activities between sessions
Regular parent updates so you always know how your child is progressing
Sessions are available on weekday evenings.
Monthly block bookings are available. Places in each group are limited, so early enquiry is recommended.

Parent Power Workshops
Because you are your child's most powerful learning partner.
One hour of specialist tutoring a week can make a real difference — but the progress your child makes between sessions matters just as much as what happens during them. The Parent Power Workshops exist for exactly that reason: to give you the knowledge, tools, and confidence to support your child's reading development every single day, in a way that feels natural and manageable at home.
These monthly one-hour online sessions are designed specifically for parents — no teaching background required, no jargon, no overwhelm. Just clear, practical strategies you can start using immediately, explained in plain English by someone who has spent over 15 years working with children with dyslexia and training others to support them effectively.
Each workshop covers:
Practical reading strategies grounded in structured literacy and the Wilson Reading System
How to make home practice feel calm, positive, and productive — rather than a battle
Simple ways to build your child's confidence and self-belief alongside their reading skills
Answers to the questions parents ask most — in an open, supportive group setting
Workshops take place online once a month and are open to all ReadWithMe.ie families.
Places are kept small to make sure there is always time for your questions.

How It Works — Your First Steps With ReadWithMe.ie
Getting started is straightforward. Here is exactly what happens when you reach out:
Step 1 — Book a Free Discovery Call
Click the button below to book a free 30-minute call at a time that suits you. This is a relaxed, no-pressure conversation — just the two of us talking about your child. We will cover what you are noticing at home and at school, what your child has already tried, any questions or concerns you have, and whether ReadWithMe.ie is the right fit for your family right now. There is absolutely no obligation to proceed.
Step 2 — Receive a Personalised Plan
After our call, I will put together a recommended programme tailored specifically to your child. This is based on their current reading level, their learning profile, and what you have shared with me about how they learn best. You will know exactly what we are working towards and why — before a single tutoring session begins.
Step 3 — Start Tutoring
Sessions take place on weekday evenings via Google Meet, from the comfort of your own home. Your child will need a device with a camera and microphone — that is all. I will be in touch before the first session to make sure everything is set up and your child feels ready and comfortable.
A Note on Safety
Your child's safety is my absolute priority. All sessions take place via Google Meet, and parents are warmly welcome to observe any session at any time — no need to ask permission. I follow strict child protection and online safety guidelines. You should feel completely confident about what is happening on screen.
All sessions are delivered live online, so it is worth taking five minutes before the first lesson to make sure everything is ready. Do not worry — the setup is simple, and I am here to help if you get stuck.
Device
A tablet is strongly recommended — either an iPad or an Android tablet. The reason for this is simple: tablets allow your child to interact directly with the screen during activities, and that hands-on element is an important part of how lessons are structured. It makes sessions more engaging and more effective.
A laptop or desktop computer works perfectly well too, as long as your child has access to a drawing pad alongside it.
A smartphone alone is not recommended, as the screen is too small for the activities we use in sessions.
Software
Your child will need Google Meet/Zoom installed on their device before their first session. Google Meet and Zoom are free to download and straightforward to set up. Parents will need to show them how to log in if your child is unable to do so.
Internet Connection
A standard home Wi-Fi connection is all that is needed. You do not need anything special or high-speed — as long as your connection is stable, it will work just fine.
Not Sure if Your Setup is Suitable?
Please just ask. Before your child's first session, I am happy to do a quick five-minute tech check with you to make sure everything is working and your child feels comfortable before we begin. No question is too small — getting this right at the start means your child can focus entirely on their learning from day one.
To get the most from our sessions, a formal educational psychologist's report is helpful — but not always required. If your child is waiting for an assessment, please do get in touch. We can have a chat about where your child is right now and work out together whether ReadWithMe.ie is the right fit at this stage.
Before tutoring begins, I carry out an initial assessment with your child. This helps me build a clear picture of their current reading level and identify the specific areas we need to focus on. Every child is different, and this step makes sure we start in exactly the right place.
I want to be honest with you about one thing: progress takes commitment. The sessions work best when the work done in them is reinforced at home between lessons. I will always make this as straightforward as possible for you — but your involvement as a parent genuinely makes a difference to how quickly your child moves forward.
To make sure you always feel informed and confident in supporting your child, I provide:
Parental support documents after each session, explaining clearly what we covered and what to practise at home
All resources emailed in advance of every lesson, so your child is prepared and ready to go
A follow-up summary after each session, so nothing gets lost or forgotten
You will never be left wondering what is happening or what to do next.
